Key Lime Pie - . It is rumored that Christopher
Columbus first brought citrus fruits with him on his second
voyage
to the Caribbean
Sea in 1493, when
lime trees were planted first in Haiti. It is subsequent to that
point that the trees came to the
string of Florida islands known as "The Keys".
With their unique,
extra tart flavor, Key limes lend themselves
beautifully
to tarts and desserts, most notably Key lime pie. Our Key lime pie
is served in a Graham cracker pie shell, filled with the distictive
Key lime
filling,
and topped with fresh whipped cream - as a refreshing treat!
